Avevo seborah d'istinto che il suo modo di fare era solo per salvaguardare se stessa ed era mossa dalla paura ssimmons le potesse succedere qualcosa di terribile. Secondo me alcune pagine sono di troppo, ma credo che la Simmons abbia voluto far capire al lettore quanto Elene abbia sofferto e come un po' alla volta si ricreda su Geoffrey e come quest'ultimo riesca a capire la moglie vedendo i piccoli e continui miglioramenti nella convivenza.

Geoffrey is resonabel, sweet, almost perfect and Helene…. I missed the development between these two as there was none in the first half and not enough time in the second I nearly rated it with 2 stars but the end and the wolf turned it to a 3 star rating but I am now not sure about reading the next one La scelta ricade su Geoffrey, un uomo bello, aitante, che accetta con rassegnazione il destino che lo aspetta.

Here was a man with patience and intelligence and who refused to believe the worst about his wife even when faced with an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence against her. Her temper is horrible, and she pouts, screams, tantrums, and acts like an unruly child for a great portion of the book.
